Amaterasu, sun goddess gets so angry at her younger brother Susanoo's evildoing, and she hides herself into a cave. Since the sun is gone, everything goes pitch-black, and disasters fall one after another.
Yaoyorozu gods and goddesses (Eight-million myriad kami ) get gathered at Amano yasukawara (the plain of high-heaven) , and discuss what measures they should take to lure her out of the cave.
Uzume Myojin performs a ribald dance in front of the cave, succeeds in making the "eight-million myriad kami" roar with laughter, prompting Amaterasu to take a peak at the unexpected uproar. Tachikaro-no-mikoto forces the cave to open, and the world is bathed in light again.
