Suzuka

The year is 802. Tate-eboshi, daughter of the Demon King of the Fourth Heaven, has come from India to Japan in anticipation of joining forces with a powerful demon, Ōtake-maru, who lives on Mt. Suzuka in Ise Province. Together, she plans to turn Japan into a land of darkness. Having received a prophecy of her plans, the emperor orders Commander Saka-no-ue Tamuramaro to destroy Tate-eboshi before she can complete her evil plans. The two meet as she is on her way to see Ōtake-maru and a fierce battle ensues. However, the battle is interrupted by the great god Bishamonten. Bishamonten tells Tate-eboshi to repent for her sins and join forces with Tamuramaro to defeat Ōtake-maru. She agrees, and then Bishamonten lets them in on a secret: Ōtake-maru owns three powerful, sacred swords which have, until now, made him invincible. If they can manage to take the swords from him, he can be defeated. Before they leave, Bishamonten bestows upon Tamuramaro a divine rod for protection. Tamuramaro and Tate-eboshi reach Mt. Suzuka and, after a great battle, are able to take Ōtake-maru's swords from him and at last, defeat him for good.
