Yoshitsune Senbon-zakura (or, A Fateful Meeting on Gojō-bashi Bridge)

義経千本桜~運命五条~

Ushiwaka-maru, who has just completed his training on Mt. Kuramayama, meets Musashibō Benkei on the Gojō-bashi Bridge in Kyoto. Each time someone tried to cross the bridge, Benkei, a monk who trained on Mt. Hieizan, would challenge them to a duel as part of a ritual called the Thousand Swords. If Benkei wins the duel, he takes his opponent's sword, and if he defeats 1,000 people, he would be granted a wish. When Ushiwaka-maru approaches the bridge, playing the flute as he goes, little does he know that he is about to become Benkei's thousandth opponent. Challenged to a duel, Ushiwaka-maru jumps spritely along the handrail of the bridge, countering Benkei's attacks as he goes, and finally defeats him. The defeated Benkei swears his lifelong allegiance to Ushiwaka-maru, becoming his retainer.
